The author continues the study of the Cauchy problem \[ y^{\prime}=f(t,y), \quad y(0) =r,\tag \(*\) \] where \(f\) is defined on \(\mathbb{R}\times\mathbb{R}^{n}\) and is discontinuous. Denote by \(R_{ce}( \mathbb{R}\times\mathbb{R}^{n}) \) the solution space of an equation such that the existence theorem is available for the Cauchy problem with arbitrary initial condition and such that the solution of the Cauchy problem is continuous (upper semicontinuous) with respect to the initial conditions. We cite below the main result of the paper as the following theorem: Let the right-hand side \(f\) of the equation \(y^{\prime }=f( t,y) \) be defined on \(\mathbb{R}\times\mathbb{R}^{n},\) and let the solution space of this equation belong to the class \(R_{ce}( \mathbb{R}\times\mathbb{R}^{n}) .\) Let \(\psi:[0,\infty)\to [0,\infty)\) be a measurable function such that \(1/\psi( u) \) is locally integrable and \[ \|f( t,y)\|\leq\psi(\|y\|) \;\forall t\in\mathbb{R},\;y\in\mathbb{R}^{n}. \] Then, each solution (maximally extended to the right) of the Cauchy problem \((*)\) is defined on the interval \([0,b]\) for every positive \(b<\int_{\|r\|}^{\infty}\,du/\psi(u)\).
