    The authors study the logistic equation with piecewise constant arguments in the form \[ N'(t)=r(t)N(t)\biggl(1-\sum_{j=0}^m a_jN([t-j])\biggr), \] where \([\cdot]\) denotes the greatest integer function, \(r:[0,\infty)\rightarrow (0,\infty)\) is a continuous function, \(m\) is a nonnegative integer, and \(a_j\geq 0\) for \(j=0,1,2,\dots,m\) with \(a_m>0\). Let \(N^*=1/\sum_{j=0}^m a_j\). \(N(t)=N^*\) is a trivial solution to the equation. Two results on the stability of \(N^*\) are proved: Theorem 1. If \[ \int_{n-m}^{n+1}r(s)\,ds\leq {3\over 2}+{1\over 2(m+1)} \] for \(n\geq m\), then \(N^*\) is uniformly stable. Theorem 2. If \[ \int_{n-m}^{n+1}r(s)\,ds\leq \alpha<{3\over 2}+{1\over 2(m+1)} \] for \(n\geq m\) and \[ \int_0^{\infty} r(s)\,ds=\infty, \] then \(N^*\) is globally asymptotically stable.
