A Cameron-Liebler line class is a set of lines in \(\text{PG}(3, q)\) which contains a fixed number \(x\) of lines in every spread. It was initially conjectured that necessarily \(x\) is in the set \(\{0, 1, 2, q^2-1, q^2, q^2 + 1\}\), although this conjecture has been disproved. In the paper under review the authors investigate Cameron-Liebler line classes in \(\text{PG}(3, 4)\), exhibiting one with parameter \(x = 7\) and showing the non-existence of such classes with parameters \(x = 4, 5\). The example with \(x = 7\) is the first counter-example to the Cameron-Liebler conjecture for even \(q\), and it is constructed using a cone over a hyperoval. The obvious generalization to \(\text{PG}(3, 2^h)\) does not produce examples for \(h > 2\). The non-existence results depend upon a careful analysis of multiple blocking sets in \(\text{PG}(2, 4)\).
