The book under review is a collection of all works of John Douglas Eshelby (1916--1981). It contains his 57 papers as well as his lectures on the elastic energy-momentum tensor (given in the form of the reproduction of his hand notes). The volume contains also short biographical data of Eshelby, forewords by B. Bilby, A. Seeger and J. R. Willis as well as full list of Eshelby's publications and acknowledgements. The book was published very carefully. It will be a very good source to the work of Eshelby.
