In the frame of well-posedness in Sobolev spaces for second order strictly hyperbolic equations, the authors are looking for new energy inequalities. The energy inequalities are obtained under the assumption that some auxiliary functions exist and that local as well as global conditions for the coefficients and depending on the auxiliary functions are fulfilled.
