It is a part of mathematical folklore that spin groups attached to quadratic forms via Clifford algebras and considered as group schemes are smooth and reductive. For the case of hyperbolic basic quadratic forms, missing verification is partly performed in [\textit{H. Ikai}, Monatsh. Math. 139, 33--60 (2003; Zbl 1026.15024)]. In the present paper, the verification is completed by considering an odd rank counterpart for the semi-regular case.
