Ohne an die existierende Literatur irgendwie anzuknüpfen, schildert Verf. in sehr allgemein gehaltenen Umrissen die Vorteile, welche die Matrizenrechnung bei Problemen mit verketteten Wahrscheinlichkeiten bietet. Er betont, die Meteorologie habe es mit verketteten Erscheinungen zu tun; wolle man den zeitlichen Ablauf beschreiben, so müsse man Übergangswahrscheinlichkeiten verwenden.
