The author considers the fundamental groups in connection with (1) the space of real smooth functions on the circle having no critical points of multiplicity greater than 2, (2) the space of planar curves having no horizontal inflection tangents, but having simple double points. Also the homotopy groups and the homology groups of the space \(G^ k_ d\) of real polynomials of degree d, having no zeros of multiplicity greater than k, are considered.
