The paper deals with the following critical problem with singular and discontinuous nonlinearity: \[ \begin{cases} -\Delta u =\lambda \left( \chi_{u<a}u^{-\delta} + h(u) e^{u^2}\right) & \text{in}\;\Omega,\\ u>0 & \text{in}\;\Omega,\\ u=0 & \text{on}\;\partial\Omega, \end{cases} \] where \(\Omega\subset {\mathbb R}^2\) is a bounded and smooth domain, \(a>0,\) \(\lambda>0,\) \(0<\delta<3,\) \(\chi\) is the characteristic function and \(h\) is a smooth function. The authors derive existence of multiple positive solutions to the above problem.
