Let \(A\) be a central simple algebra of dimension \(\ell^ 2\) over a non- archimedean local field \(F\), where \(\ell\) is an odd prime. Then \(A\) is either a division algebra or a matrix algebra. The main results of this paper are to give character formulas for the unramified cuspidal series on regular elements in a compact-modulo-center Cartan subgroup \(E^ \times\) of \(A^ \times\). The author does this by considering separately the cases of division algebras and matrix algebras.
