This paper has many results, all centering around so-called \(F\)-algebra groups. Namely, let \(F\) be a field of characteristic \(p>0\). Let \(J\) be the Jacobson radical belonging to the finite dimensional \(F\)-algebra \(R\). Then \(1+J:=\{1+a\mid a\in J\}\) is a \(p\)-subgroup of the group of units of \(R\), to be called an \(F\)-algebra group. We mention some achievements of the paper. Theorem A. Let \(F\) be a field of order \(q\). Suppose \(G\) is an \(F\)-algebra group. Then \(\{\chi(1)\mid\chi\in\text{Irr}(G)\}\subseteq\{\)integral powers of \(q\}\). Corollary B. Let \(q= p^t\), \(p\) prime, \(t\in\mathbb{N}\). Let \(T\in\text{Syl}_p(\text{GL}(n,q))\). Then each \(\chi(1)\) with \(\chi\in\text{Irr}(T)\) is an integral power of \(q\). The paper is a good source in learning to combine and apply group-ring theory, matrix theory, and character theory of finite groups.
