The paper under review deals with following the boundary value problem (BVP) which consist of the differential equation \[ u^{\prime\prime} (x)+ \alpha u^{+} (x)-\beta u^{-} (x)=0,\quad x\in (0,\pi) \] and the boundary condition \[ u(0)=0 \] and another non-local boundary condition in integral form \[ \int_0^\pi u(x) dx=0, \] where \(\alpha\) and \(\beta\) are real numbers and \(u^{\pm} (x):= \max \{\pm u(x),0\}\). The goal of this paper is to study the set \(\Sigma\) which consist of the pairs \((\alpha, \beta)\) such that the BVP has a non-trivial solution. The set \(\Sigma\) is called Fučík spectrum. The authors present a new compact form of the implicit description of the Fučík spectrum in the first quadrant. This compact form consists of two regular curves of \(C^1\) class which are symmetric with respect to the diagonal \(\alpha = \beta\). It is also seen that the Fučík spectrum in its compact form can be easily implemented in numerical computing packages or computer algebra systems. For the entire collection see [Zbl 1427.00059].
