The article is devoted to studies of the problem: when a locally convex space does not contain a copy of \((c_0,\|\cdot\|_\infty)\), that is a development of the Bessaga-Pelczynski's results. It is proved, that for a barrelled space \(E\) with continuous dual \(E'\) in the strong topology \(\beta(E', E)\) the following conditions are equivalent: \((1^\circ)\) \((E',\beta(E',E))\) contains no copy of \((c_0,\|\cdot\|_\infty)\), \((4^\circ)\) Every continuous linear operator \(T: E\to \ell_1\) is both compact and sequentially compact, \((5^\circ)\) \(|E|\), \(\beta(E',E)\) contains no copy of \((\ell_\infty, \|\cdot\|_\infty)\), \((2^\circ)\) Every weakly unconditional Cauchy series \(\sum_n f_n\) in \((E',\beta(E',E))\) is unconditional convergent.
