A delay differential equation with continuous periodic parameters is proposed to model the circadian pacemaker in a periodic environment. By means of Mawhin's continuation theorem, the existence of a positive periodic solution is obtained. Two easily verifiable sufficient conditions are also derived for the global attractivity of the positive periodic solution. Some numerical simulations are also given to demonstrate the main results.
