    The authors study the global stability of solutions for the system of equations \((i=1,\dots, m)\) \[ {{\partial u_ i} \over {\partial t}}= d_ i {\partial \over {\partial x}} \Biggl[ {{\partial u_ i} \over {\partial x}}+ \mu z_ i u_ i {{\partial \varphi} \over {\partial x}} \Biggr], \quad \varepsilon {{\partial^ 2 \varphi} \over {\partial x^ 2}}=- e\sum z_ k u_ k, \quad \text{for }(x,t)\in (0,1)\times \mathbb{R}^ +, \] satisfying the boundary and initial conditions \[ \begin{aligned} {{\partial u_ i} \over {\partial x}}+ \mu z_ i u_ i {{\partial\varphi} \over {\partial x}}=0, &\quad \text{ for } x=0,1,\\ \Phi(0,t)=0,\;\Phi(1,t)=\alpha, &\quad \text{ for } t>0,\\ u_ i (x,0)= u^ 0_ i (x)\geq 0, &\quad \text{ for } x\in (0,1).\end{aligned} \] Here \(d_ i\), \(\mu\), \(z_ i\), \(\varepsilon\), \(e\), \(\alpha\) are constants and \(u_ i\) and \(\Phi\) are the unknown functions. The uniform convergence on the unit interval of the solutions to the unique steady-state solution is proved.
