Ist \(E\) der Elsticitäts-Coefficient eines Metalles, \(\alpha\) sein Ausdehnungs-Coefficient, \(C\) seine specifische Wärme, \(D\) sein specifisches Gewicht, so ist der Quotient \(E\alpha :CD\) nahezu constant für alle Metalle, im Mittel gleich 0,230, wie an den bekannten Zahlen bestätigt wird. Aus diesem, dem Dulong-Petti'schen Gesetze über die Atomwärme vergleichbaren Satze werden mehrere theoretische Folgerungen abgeleitet.
