The article is concerned with mixed finite element approximations to elliptic boundary value problems, studied in detail for a model Neumann problem. The authors propose an iterative procedure based on non-overlapping or overlapping domain decompositions. As interfacial transmission condition, a Robin type boundary condition is used. The parameter in the condition and the overlap are systematically changed during the iteration to accelerate convergence.
