The authors continue their study of second order elliptic partial differential operators \(L\) on \(\mathbb{R}^d\) with periodic coefficients [see J. Differ. Equ. 195, 80--198 (2003; Zbl 1036.31005)]. The asymptotics of the integral kernel \(G_{\lambda \pm io}(x,y)\) of the resolvent \((L-\lambda \mp i0)^{-1}\) are determined for \(| x-y| \rightarrow\infty\) where \(d\geq 2\) and \(\lambda>\lambda_0\), the bottom of the spectrum of \(L\). Also, an elementary proof of the limiting absorption principle is provided and the Green functions are explicitly given for any real \(\lambda\) (if \(d=1\)). The proofs are based on the Bloch representation of the resolvent and on the method of stationary phase.
