The aim of this paper is to derive relationships between several objects related to a given second-order ODE such as: generalized symmetries, commuting symmetries, first integrals, Jacobi last multipliers etc. On this way, several integration techniques can be combined in an useful way. Some interesting examples are studied. For the entire collection see [Zbl 1405.34003].
