The authors announce, with outlines of proofs, a way to formulate the local families index theorem in entire cyclic cohomology. They construct a bivariant JLO cocycle from Dirac operators along the fibers of a smooth fibration. For any nonnegative \(k\), with respect to the \(C^{k}\) topology on the algebra of functions on the base and the \(C^{k+1}\) topology on the algebra of functions on the total space, the bivariant cocycle is analytic in the sense of [\textit{R. Meyer}, Cyclic cohomology theories and nilpotent extensions, PhD thesis, Münster; see also: Local and analytic cyclic homology. EMS Tracts in Mathematics 3. Zürich: European Mathematical Society (EMS) (2007; Zbl 1134.46001)].
