A function of the form \({\mathbb D}\supseteq \text{Dom}(f)\ni z\mapsto f(z)\in{\mathcal X}^{m(f;z)}\), where \(\mathcal X\) is a complex vector space and \(\{m(f;z)\}_{z\in{\mathbb D}}\) is a collection of nonnegative integers or infinity such that \(m(f;z)>0\) if and only if \(z\in\text{Dom}(f)\), is said to be an \(\mathcal X\)-valued jet function. A result of P. Yuditskii, proving that Schur class functions appear as factors in a factorization formula for pairs of operator-valued functions with positive semidefinite Carathéodory--Pick operators is extended to pairs of operator-valued jet functions. In these generalized settings, Carathéodory--Pick operators of a jet function are defined as unique solutions of the corresponding Stein equations. The formulation of the result is close to the projective one of \textit{J. A. Ball} and \textit{J. W. Helton} [J. Oper. Theory 9, 107--142 (1983; Zbl 0505.47029); see also J. Funct. Anal. 69, 178--206 (1986; Zbl 0614.47003)]. The authors obtain, in particular, that the jet functions belonging to the Schur class are restrictions of jet functions generated by certain Schur functions.
