The paper investigates the propagation of thermoelastic waves by means of a finite difference discretization of balance integral equation, and by using a recently proposed wave propagation algorithm. A feature of the discretization in thermal systems arises from the fact that one must use the so-called contact quantities that allow to describe the nonequilibrium evolution of neighbouring cells. Numerical simulations validate the proposed approach.
