    Herr Kronecker hat in den Sitzungsberichten der Berliner Akademie (Jahrgang 1882 pag. 824) unter einer Reihe merkwürdiger linearer Relationen, welche für die Subdeterminanten symmetrischer Systeme gelten, auch die folgende mitgetheilt: \[ |a_{gh}|=\sum_s |a_{ik}|, \] \[ (s=m+1,m+2,\dots,2m)\;(g=1,2,\dots,m;\;h=m+1,\dots,2m) \] \[ (i=1,2,\dots,m-1,s;\;k=m+1,\dots,s-1,m,s+1,\dots,2m). \] Der Herr Verfasser zeigt, dass aus dieser Gleichung, wenn man an Stelle der Grössen \(a\) passend gewählte Verbindungen von Thetafunctionen einführt und die Schröter-Königsberger'sche Thetaformel (Borchardt J. LXIV. 24) anwendet, die von Herrn Weierstrass in den Sitzungsberichten der Berliner Akademie (Jahrgang 1882. 505) mitgeteilte Thetaformel hervorgeht. Dass diese Formel nur ein specieller Fall einer weit allgemeineren Formel ist, haben die Herren Frobenius (Kronecker J. XCVI. 100) und Caspary (Kronecker J. XCVI. 324) gezeigt.
