Der Verf. wendet die bei den Engländern beliebte Methode der symbolischen Rechnung mit einem Operator \(\varphi(D)\), wo \(D =\frac{d}{dx}\), \(\varphi(D)\) ein Polynom in \(D\) ist, auch für den Fall an, daß \(\varphi(D)\) eine in Partialbrüche zerlegbare transzendente Funktion ist, um die Entwicklung einer Funktion \(f(x)\) in eine trigonometrische Reihe herzuleiten. Hierbei wird \(\varphi(D)= \text{sinh\,}aD\) gesetzt.
