Most constructions of wavelet bases on the interval are based on suitable modifying the scaling and wavelet functions at the boundaries. These constructions need the assumption that the left and right boundary functions do not interact such that wavelets at large scales are not available. The paper presents a new approach to the construction of orthogonal wavelets on the interval where this restriction of ``non interacting boundaries'' is not longer necessary. Further it is shown that the constructed wavelet bases coincide with the existing constructions for smaller scales. Finally, an approach for a multiresolution on \([0,1] \) with boundary conditions is presented.
