    Die Arbeit schließt an die frühere Note Quart. J. Math. (Oxford Ser.) 9 (1938), 53-67 (JFM 64.0401.*) des Verf. an, wo es sich um unendliche Summationsformeln handelte. Satz: Die endliche Folge von reellen Zahlen \(a_1\), \dots \(a_N\) sei so beschaffen, daß die nach dem Multinomialsatz entwickelte Reihe \[ \left(\sum_{n=1}^Na_nn^{s-1}\right)\left(\sum_{n=1}^Na_nn^{-s} \right)^{-1}= \sum_{n=1}^\infty b_nc_n^{s-1} \] für \(s = \frac 12\) absolut konvergiert. Ferner sei \(\sum\limits_{n=1}^\infty |b_n|\) konvergent und \(|f(x)| < K\) für alle \(x\). Dann ist \[ \sum_{n=1}^N a_nf(n)= \sum_{n=1}^Na_ng(n), \] wo \[ g(x)= \sum_{n=1}^\infty \frac{b_n}xf\left(\frac{c_n}x\right) \] ist. Ferner ist \[ f(x)=\sum_{n=1}^\infty \frac{b_n}xg\left(\frac{c_n}x\right). \]
