The \(B(n)\)-groups are defined as quotients of finite rank completely decomposable groups modulo pure subgroups of rank \(n\). We know from Butler's Theorem that every \(B(n)\)-group can be embedded as a pure subgroup of a completely decomposable groups. In the main result of this paper (Theorem 1), the authors characterize by invariants the purity of a \(B(2)\)-group as a subgroup of a completely decomposable group.
