The authors derive formally (via a two-scale asymptotics) and then justify rigorously (via the oscillating test method) a macroscopic model for electrical conduction in biological tissues (in the high-frequency range). This model appears to be relevant for some of the questions arising in the electric impedance tomography. Besides passing to the homogenization limit, the authors also investigate questions concerning the long time behavior of the oscillating micro-solutions. Among other things, they show that periodic boundary data lead to an asymptotically periodic solution. The results of this present paper are a nice and natural continuation of the previous ones obtained by the authors in this framework.
