The paper proposes a computationally efficient method for the design of linear-phase nonrecursive filters. It consists in a generalization of the eigenfilter method allowing arbitrary magnitude responses, time domain constraints, and lower weighted mean-square error and computational complexity. The method is illustrated by several design examples.
