The author gives the following result: Let \(P:\mathbb R^m\to\mathbb R^n\) be a polynomial mapping of degree \(\mathbf d=(d_1,d_2,\dots,d_n)\), with \(P(0)=0\). Then \[ \int_{\mathbb R^m}\frac{| \hat f(P(x))| }{| x| ^m}dx\leq C_{m,n,\mathbf d} \| f\| _{H^1(\mathbb R^n)}, \] where \(C_{m,n,\mathbf d}\) is a constant depending only on \(m,n,\mathbf d\) and not on the coefficients of \(P\). This concerns the restriction of Fourier transform of \(H^1\) functions on polynomial sufaces, and extends the Hardy's inequality on \(H^1\) functions. This also extends a result of \textit{E. M. Stein} and \textit{S. Wainger} concerning restrictions of Fourier series associated to polynomials [Bull. Am. Math. Soc. 23, 537--544 (1990; Zbl 0718.42015)].
