A variation of the i.i.d. lifetime branching process, with offspring at times of a Poisson process in which time to cell death is counted after death of parent, is considered. Sufficient conditions for the process to persist or to die out are obtained. The asymptotic stability of a new queueing process with blocking is given as an example.
