The author proves that there is a \(C^1\) residual subset \({\mathcal R}\) in the complement of the \(C^1\) closure of diffeomorphisms exhibiting either a homoclinic tangency or a heterodimensional cycle such that every \(f\in{\mathcal R}\) is ``nearly'' hyerbolic. The author uses the notion of the so-called minimally nonhyperbolic set, which he introduced.
