Soliton-type asymptotics are developed for the Maxwell-Lorentz equations coupled to a relativistic charge, and it is shown that each solution converges to a soliton as time tends to infinity. To obtain the results of the paper, a strong form of Huygen's principle is invoked for the Maxwell-Lorentz equations, and a Hamiltonian approach is developed for the canonical transformations involved.
