For submanifolds \(M^m\subset S^n\) in the conformal \(n\)-sphere, conformal invariants are defined: in particular, a ``Möbius metric'', a ``Möbius second fundamental form'' and a ``Möbius (1-)form''. In the case of hypersurfaces, \(m=n-1\), a fundamental theorem is given. The author discusses ``Möbius minimal'' submanifolds (critical submanifolds for the volume functional of the Möbius metric): the corresponding Euler-Lagrange equations are derived and minimal (2-dimensional) surfaces in \(S^n\) and \(\mathbb{R}^n\) are shown to be Möbius minimal. Finally, the surfaces in \(S^3\) with vanishing Möbius form are classified.
