SIR and SIS epidemic models are considered, where several strains of infection are attacking a single host. Without the infection the host has a logistic-type dynamics, per capita infection rates of susceptibles are proportional to the densities of the infectives of the different strains in the total population, there are additional death rates corresponding to the infections of the respective strains. Sufficient conditions are given for competitive exclusion among the different strains, i.e., under which a single strain prevails and the rest disappear. Numerical examples show that the conditions are not necessary. Conditions are given also for the disappearance of all the strains.
