    The paper is devoted to the study of of the completeness of the eigenfunctions of the non-standard eigenvalue problem \[ \lambda y^{\prime \prime }(s)+\mu a(s)y(s)+b(s)y(s)=0,\;0\leq s\leq 1,^{\prime }=d/ds \] \[ \mu z^{\prime \prime }(t)-\lambda c(t)z(t)+d(t)z(t)=0,\;0\leq t\leq 1,^{\prime }=d/dt \] \[ y(0)=y(1)=0,\;z(0)=z(1)=0. \] An eigenvalue is a pair \(\left( \lambda ,\mu \right) \neq \left( 0,0\right) \) to which corresponds a nontrivial solution \(y(s,\lambda ,\mu ),\;z\left( t,\lambda ,\mu \right)\). The product \(y(s,\lambda ,\mu )\;z\left( t,\lambda ,\mu \right) \) is called an eigenfunction of the problem.
