The following topological analogue of a measure-theoretical result of G. A. Margulis is proved. Let G be a connected semi-simple Lie group with finite center and \({\mathbb{R}}\)-rank at least 2 and P its parabolic subgroup. Let \(\Gamma \subset G\) be an irreducible lattice (i.e. such that \(F\Gamma\) is dense for any non-central normal subgroup \(F\subset G)\) and X a Hausdorff \(\Gamma\) -space. If there exists a continuous surjective \(\Gamma\) -equivariant map \(\phi\) : G/\(P\to X\), then there exists a parabolic subgroup \({\mathbb{Q}}\supset P\) and a \(\Gamma\) -equivariant homeomorphism \(\psi\) :G/\({\mathbb{Q}}\to X\) such that \(\psi^{-1}\phi\) is the canonical projection of G/P onto G/\({\mathbb{Q}}\).
