The authors study the local \(p\)-adic Galois representation attached to certain automorphic forms. In order to do this, they use \(p\)-adic Hodge theory, and therefore their result applies to automorphic forms for which compatibility ``at \(p\)'' is known. In addition, since this compatibility says nothing about the filtration, they need to assume throughout that the Hodge filtration is in general position. Their main result is then that, under these assumptions, if the automorphic form \(\pi\) is ordinary at \(p\), then the same holds for the attached \(p\)-adic representation, while if \(\pi\) is not ordinary at \(p\), then the attached \(p\)-adic representation is irreducible. In some cases, they can compute explicitly some parameters of the attached \(p\)-adic representation.
