Verteidigung des Pragmatismus unter besonderer Berücksichtigung von \textit{Dewey}s Philosophie. Im Sinne des neueren Pragmatismus bedeutet der ``Begriff'' in statischer Hinsicht eine abstrakte Zusammenstellung von Relationen (``connotation''), in funktionaler Fassung einen Prozeß, der ein Gegebenes in ein Instrument der Vorhersage und Kontrolle übersetzt (``denotation''). Als Beispiele und Muster werden die neuere Mathematik und Physik stark herangezogen.
