The authors continue work by \textit{H. Leutwiler} [e.g. Complex Variables, Theory Appl. 20, No. 1-4, 19-51 (1992; Zbl 0768.30037)]. With reduced quaternions \(z= x+ iy+ jt\) there is a function theory with the Cauchy-Riemann equations in hyperbolic metric. The basic polynomials are given by \(L^k_n(z)= {1\over k!}{\partial^k z^{n+ k}\over \partial y^k}\). In this note, explicit formulas for these polynomials are deduced and some former proofs are simplified.
