Ein dynamisches System wird ``metrisch transitiv'' genannt, wenn jede meßbare Punktmenge des Phasenraumes, welche einer Menge vollständiger Bewegungen entspricht, entweder vom Maße Null oder vom Maße des ganzen Raumes ist. Es wird gezeigt: Das System der geodätischen Linien auf einer geschlossenen orientierbaren Fläche vom Geschlecht \(>1\), welche in einer geeigneten (speziellen) Weise mit einer \textit{Riemann}schen Metrik vom konstanten Krümmungsmaße \(- 1\) versehen ist, ist metrisch transitiv. Beim Beweise spielt die \textit{Nielsen}sche ``Randpunktentwicklung'' eine wesentliche Rolle (vgl. \textit{Nielsen} 1927; F. d. M. 53, 545 (JFM 53.0545.*)).
