In einer früheren Arbeit (Abh. math. Sem. Hamburg. Univ. 8 (1930), 123-147; F.~d.~M. 56\(_{\text{I}}\), 140) hat Verf. die Theorie der alternativen Ringe entwickelt. Hier wird ein alternativer Ring \(S\) hyperkomplex genannt, wenn folgende drei Ketten abbrechen: 1) jede (absteigende) Kette \(a^iS\), 2) jede aufsteigende und 3) jede absteigende Kette von Lösungssystemen von \(a^i x = 0\). Als Hauptresultat weist Verf. die Existenz eines Radikals für jeden hyperkomplexen alternativen Ring nach.
