It is shown that every slice in the unit ball of an infinite dimensional uniform algebra has diameter 2. This strengthens a recent result of \textit{P. Beneker} and \textit{J. Wiegerinck} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 127, No. 5, 1567-1570 (1999; Zbl 0916.46039)].
