Bisognano and Wichmann investigated in wellknown papers the interplay between Unruh effect and PCT symmetry [\textit{J.J. Bisognano} and \textit{E.H. Wichmann}, J. Math. Phys. 16, 985--1007 (1975; Zbl 0316.46062), ibid. 17, 303 (1976)] for finite-component Wightman fields. The results covered by Bisognano-Wichmann's theorems do not encompass all the possible physically interesting field theories. More recently, H.-J. Borchers has derived, from the spectrum condition, a couple of commutation relations which ''almost, but only almost'' imply the Unruh effect and PCT symmetry. This paper shows that Borchers' result implies both Unruh effect and PCT symmetry \textit{provided} that the operators involved in Borchers' commutation rules act geometrically on local net of observables.
