The paper presents a very detailed and systematic analysis of quantum resonances in the one-dimensional discrete Schrödinger equation, which is originally set in a finite-size box, with the corresponding Hamiltonian including a discrete potential that gives rise to ergodicity in the infinite system. In this context, both spatially periodic and random (Anderson's) potentials are considered. The main objective of the study is distribution of resonances in the system in the limit of the width of the potential box tending to infinity. The analysis is performed by means of the study of spectral properties of the corresponding Hamiltonian.
