Group schemes and local densities of ramified Hermitian lattices in residue characteristic 2. I (Q299137): Difference between revisions

Let \(F\) be an unramified finite extension of \(\mathbb{Q}_2\) and let \(E/F\) be a ramified quadratic extension. Restrict to the case (called ``case 1'' by the author) \[ G_{-1}= G_0= G_1,\quad G_2=0, \] where \(G_i\) are the lower ramification groups of the Galois group \(\text{Gal}(E/F)\). The paper obtains a local density formula for a ramified Hermitian lattice in this case by constructing a smooth integral group scheme model for an appropriate unitary group. Combined with results by \textit{W. T. Gan} and \textit{J.-K. Yu} [Duke Math. J. 105, No. 3, 497--524 (2000; Zbl 1048.11028)] this allows the computation of the mass formula for Hermitian lattices in this case.
