This is another contribution to the many fruitful lines of enquiry triggered by the influential paper of \textit{H. Furstenberg} [Math. Syst. Theory 1, 1--49 (1967; Zbl 0146.28502)], in this case the result showing in particular that if \(S\) is a multiplicative sub-semigroup on \(\mathbb{N}\) containing two multiplicatively independent natural numbers then an orbit of \(S\) on the circle under the action of multiplication modulo \(1\) is either finite or dense. \textit{D. Berend} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 286, 505--535 (1984; Zbl 0523.22004)] generalized this to characterize those semigroups of endomorphisms of a compact abelian group with the same property that the orbits are either finite or dense. Here a different approach is taken in the specific case of the compact solenoid \(\mathbb{Q}_{\mathbb{A}}/\mathbb{Q}\), and the main result is that if \(S\) is generated by \(\gamma\in\mathbb{Q}\) and \(\delta\in\mathbb{Z}\) then the orbit under multiplication by \(S\) of a point \(a=(a_{\infty},a_2,a_3,\dots)\in\mathbb{Q}_{\mathbb{A}}/\mathbb{Q}\) with \(a_{\infty}\notin\mathbb{Q}\) is dense.
