The present paper is divided in two parts. The first three sections express the geometry of Riemannian submanifolds through Nambu brackets. The second part contains the applications of previous results to matrix regularizations of compact surfaces. In particular, are included a discrete version of the Gauss-Bonnet theorem and a proof that the discrete Gauss curvature bounds the eigenvalues of the discrete Laplacian.
