The authors consider the space-time heterogeneous Fisher-KPP equation, \[ \partial_tu-{\mathrm{Tr}}(A(x,t)D^2u)+q(x,t)\cdot Du=f(x,t,u), \quad x\in\mathbb{R}^N,\;t\in\mathbb{R}, \] where \(D\) and \(D^2\) denote, respectively, the gradient and the Hessian with respect to \(x\). Under the assumption that the coefficients are periodic in \(x\), the matrix field \(A\) is uniformly elliptic, and that \(f(x,t,\cdot)\) vanishes at \(0\) and \(1\) (being unstable and stable steady states, respectively). The main results concern the existence and nonexistence for generalized transition wave solutions; in particular, such waves exist as soon as their (directional) speed is sufficiently large. Under the spatial-periodic assumption on the coefficients, the results are also shown to be optional.
