A ``growth model'' can be understood as random increasing sequences of clusters on a fixed underlying graph \(G\). In this paper, the authors mainly consider the dielectric breakdown model (DBM), which is a family of growth processes, indexed by a parameter \(\eta\), in which new edges are added to a growing cluster according to the \(\eta\)th power of harmonic measure. The authors consider the graph \(G\) as a random graph embedded in the plane. The main aim of the paper is to produce a candidate for the scaling limit of an \(\eta\)-DBM process on a Liouville quantum gravity surface with a parameter \(\gamma\). Under some conditions on \(\gamma\) and \(\eta\) it is shown that there exists a process, called quantum Loewner equation, that has dynamical properties with a special scaling limit.
